Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms carefully before using After. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use After.

1. About After

After is a mobile application that provides a single AI-powered TV show or film recommendation based on content you have recently finished watching. After is an independent app based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

After is available on iOS and is distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms govern your use of the app regardless of how you access it.

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, After grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license may be extended to other accounts associated with your Apple ID via Family Sharing or volume purchasing. You may not sublicense, sell, or transfer this license to any third party.

2. Eligibility

After is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store and may be used by people of all ages. If you are under 13, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf before you use After. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Subscription Plans

After offers the following auto-renewing subscription plans:

Prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase. All billing is processed through Apple and is subject to Apple's payment terms.

Free Trial

After offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. The trial begins on the date you initiate it. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription plan you selected. You will not receive a separate notice before the trial converts to a paid subscription.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID account will be charged within 24 hours of the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through their standard refund process. After has no ability to issue refunds independently. Apple's refund policy applies to all transactions.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. You will be notified of any price changes in advance and will have the option to cancel before the new price takes effect.

What We Store

After is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect and store no personal information. Specifically:

Local Storage

All data generated by your use of After — including your watch history, saved recommendations, and taste preferences — is stored exclusively on your device. This data does not leave your device and is not accessible to us.

Deletion

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app. Because we do not retain any data on our servers, uninstalling the app permanently removes all associated data.

All content, design, trademarks, branding, and technology associated with After are the exclusive property of After or their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use After's name, logo, or branding in any manner.

The AI-generated recommendations produced by After are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialise these recommendations without prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

After is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, After shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use After, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions, including Quebec, Canada, do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to After at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

You may terminate your use of After at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling the app. Cancellation of a subscription does not entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of a billing period, except as required by applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of After after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If the changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of After shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

13. Apple-Specific Terms

After is distributed through the Apple App Store. The following terms apply in accordance with Apple's requirements for end-user license agreements.

Acknowledgement

These Terms are entered into between you and After only, and not with Apple. After, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. These Terms may not conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Scope of License

The license granted to you is a non-transferable license to use After on any Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. After may be accessed by other accounts associated with your Apple ID via Family Sharing or volume purchasing, as permitted by Apple.

Maintenance and Support

After is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the app. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to After.

Warranty

After is solely responsible for any product warranties. In the event of any failure of After to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to After. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are After's sole responsibility.

Product Claims

After, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to After or your possession and use of After, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that After fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

Intellectual Property Rights

In the event of any third-party claim that After or your possession and use of After infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, After, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.

Legal Compliance

By using After, you represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Third-Party Terms

When using After, you must comply with applicable third-party terms of service, including those of Apple, OpenAI, and RevenueCat, as described in Section 5 of these Terms.

Third-Party Beneficiary

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
